Toledo Mayor Second Inauguration January 3

Six New Members of Toledo City Council Will Also Be Sworn In

Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz will be host an official Inauguration Ceremony on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 4:00PM in the lobby of One Government Center. The event is free and open to the public. Masks are required.

Will Lucas, entrepreneur and local business leader, will serve as emcee for the ceremony. Nikki D and the Browns (Nicolle Brown,Gloria Brown, Belinda Brown,Tomika Webb) will sing the National Anthem. Pastor Perry Harris, III, of United Vision Baptist Church, will provide the invocation. University of Toledo Assistant Professor of English, Dr. Joey Kim, will read an original poem for the occasion. Toledo Municipal Court Judge Michelle Wagner will administer the Oath of Office. Mayor will provide brief remarks.

Following the Inaugural Ceremony, Toledo City Council will hold their first Council Meeting of the new year in City Council Chambers at 5:30PM. The newly elected At-Large Council Members Michele Grim, Nick Komives, Cerssandra McPherson, Katie Moline, George Sarantou, and Tiffany Whitman, will be sworn in by Lucas County Probate Court Judge Jack Puffenberger.

Mayor Kapszukiewicz, due to a rise in COVID cases and out of an abundance of caution, has cancelled all other Inaugural events.
