Mayor to Chair Community Development & Housing Committee
Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz has been selected to Chair the Community Development & Housing Committee of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, one of 10 permanent standing committees that help develop public policy positions for the nationās largest cities.
Founded in 1932, the U.S. Conference of Mayors is a non-partisan organization of Mayors who represent cities with populations of 30,000 or more. Its mission is to help develop and promote policy, build stronger federal-city relationships, and develop leadership and management tools. The conference is a forum in which mayors can share ideas and information.
āThe Build Back Better framework embraced by the White House has provided cities with a once-in-a-generation opportunity to invest in communities and improve housing outcomes for all Americans,ā Mayor Kapszukiewicz said. āI look forward to working with my colleagues across the country to seize this opportunity and help lead a national discussion on housing in urban areas.ā
