Mayor to Chair Community Development & Housing Committee

Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz has been selected to Chair the Community Development & Housing Committee of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, one of 10 permanent standing committees that help develop public policy positions for the nationā€™s largest cities.

Founded in 1932, the U.S. Conference of Mayors is a non-partisan organization of Mayors who represent cities with populations of 30,000 or more. Its mission is to help develop and promote policy, build stronger federal-city relationships, and develop leadership and management tools. The conference is a forum in which mayors can share ideas and information.

ā€œThe Build Back Better framework embraced by the White House has provided cities with a once-in-a-generation opportunity to invest in communities and improve housing outcomes for all Americans,ā€ Mayor Kapszukiewicz said. ā€œI look forward to working with my colleagues across the country to seize this opportunity and help lead a national discussion on housing in urban areas.ā€
