Responding to Discrimination or Harassment

The Department of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion receives and investigates complaints in the areas of city employment and public accommodations (city programs, activities, and services) for any person who believes they have been discriminated against on the basis of age; race; color; national origin or ancestry; disability; gender; gender expression; gender identity; sex; sexual orientation; genetic information; HIV/AIDS status; natural hair types or hair styles or head wraps commonly associated with race, culture or religion; pregnancy; religion; or veteran or military status within the City of Toledo.

If you believe that you have been the victim of discrimination or harassment, you may file an online complaint below. Complaints and informal inquiries may also be submitted by phone, US mail, or in person to:

Investigate and recommend action

At the close of the impartial investigation, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will notify both parties of its findings and recommend appropriate next steps to remediate the concern and resolve the issue.
