PS419 News Conference

Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz, Owens Community College Interim President Dr. William Balzer, Toledo Councilwoman Dr. Cecelia Adams, Toledo Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Romules Durant, Toledo Police Chief George Kral, and Toledo Fire & Rescue Chief Brian Byrd will hold a news conference at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 15 at Bowsher High School regarding PS419.

The program is a partnership of the City of Toledo, TPS, Owens Community College, and Toledo’s fire and police departments designed to benefit students and the community by assisting high school students find careers with Toledo Police or Toledo Fire & Rescue. Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz announced the new program during the 2021 State of the City address.

The news conference will be held in the auditorium. Members of the media should use the entrance in the rear of the building. Please arrive early. Identification is required to enter the building. Please wear face coverings during the news conference.
