Vacant Property Registration
Vacant and abandoned properties pose a safety risk to neighbors, and hurt the quality of the neighborhood. We are committed to holding property owners accountable and protecting the integrity of Toledo neighborhoods.
Toledo Municipal Code requires residential properties be registered with City of Toledo within 30 days of becoming vacant. Registration must be updated annually, and property owners must pay a fee of $200 at the time of filing. Owners in non-compliance are subject to misdemeanor charges.

- Report graffiti, broken down vehicles, property maintenance or structural concerns on privately-owned property
- Report debris, trash, or illegal dumping on public or abandoned properties
- Report high grass

Demolition Program
Each year, the City demolishes, removes, backfills, seeds, and straws dilapidated residential structures to clear neighborhoods of blight and homes destroyed by fire. This is a joint program funded by the Lucas County Land Bank and the City of Toledo.
