2023 Clean Toledo Drop Off Events
The City of Toledo offers several drop off events to promote cleaner neighborhoods. Items accepted at these events include electronic waste, up to 10 tires, document recycling, cardboard, phone books, and newspapers, bulky items and refuse (including air conditioning units, refrigerators/freezers, and large appliances), and latex paint. Donation trailers are also on site to collect houseware goods, clothing, and toys.
Household hazardous waste, including oil-based paints and stains, will only be collected at specific events. Lucas County Solid Waste Management District’s HHW program can also be utilized for disposing of hazardous waste.

Free Disposal Days at the Landfill
Toledo residents may bring a truck or trailer load of bulky solid waste items — including excess trash, furniture, carpeting, mattresses, wood waste, and scrap metal — to the Hoffman Road Landfill for free disposal.
